Monitoring where there is no power.
Fisheries, chicken coops, bee huts or weekend homes: we plan Ajax systems that run off-grid on solar and battery and report via the mobile network – whether the door is open or closed, whether someone is moving, and optionally with a photo from the coop.
Small, remote, still in view.
No mains power, no internet, nobody on site: this is exactly where a system pays off that runs on its own and only reports when something happens.
Chicken coop
Push notification when the coop door was closed in the evening or opened in the morning. With photo on request you can see at any time whether the animals are inside.
Fishery & pond
Monitoring of the equipment shed, feed store and access road. Outdoor detectors with camera detect movement on the grounds and send a photo series.
Cabin, garage, storage
Hunting lodge, weekend home or machine shed: opening detectors on doors and windows, motion detectors inside, a siren as a deterrent.
You know without driving out.
Every opening detector reports its status to the Ajax app in real time. For doors that should always be monitored, the detector can be set to send an alert even when the system is disarmed.
- Alert on opening and closing – plus a warning when arming if the coop door is still open
- Status at a glance – the app shows which door is open
- Multiple people – family or club members receive the alerts with their own permissions
- Alarm when armed – with siren and notification via push, call or text message
Example only

A look into the coop – via app.
Motion detectors with photo verification can take a still image on request. No continuous video, no livestream – a photo only when you request it or an alarm is triggered.
- Indoors: MotionCam (PhOD) in the coop or cabin
- Outdoors: MotionCam Outdoor (PhOD) for access road, jetty or grounds
- Disabled by default – the function is deliberately enabled and only available to authorised users
- Data-minimising: photos on request are not transmitted to a monitoring centre
Solar, battery, mobile network.
The detectors run on batteries for years. Only the hub needs permanent power – and we supply it off-grid.
Solar panel
A small panel on the roof or mast charges the battery – sized for the location and the winter sun.
12 V battery
The hub is powered directly from a DC source via the Ajax 12–24V PSU.
Mobile network
Hub 2 (4G) reports via SIM card – no internet connection needed on site.
Range
The ReX 2 radio repeater connects widely spread buildings. Without network coverage, a LoRa mesh helps.
Worked example
A 12 V battery with 40 Ah powers a hub drawing around 0.53 W for about 900 hours – more than five weeks without recharging. With a solar panel, that is enough even for overcast weeks.
What else can be monitored.
Temperature
Many Ajax detectors also measure temperature – readable in the app at any time, in the coop or the pump house.
Water
Leak detectors detect leaks in the cabin, basement or plant room – around the clock, even when the system is disarmed.
Fire
Smoke and heat detectors for the coop, hay and feed stores report a fire to your phone immediately.
From idea to first alert.
Site visit
We check buildings, doors, mobile reception and the best place for the solar panel and hub.
Concept
Detectors, power supply and notifications are tailored to your property.
Installation & configuration
Wireless detectors are mounted without cables, the hub and app are set up, and all detectors are tested.
Training
You and other users get access and know what each alert means.
